01

Introduction

Halaal Inc LTD ("Halaal", "we", "us") provides digital tools designed to support lawful, ethical, and productive work. By creating a workspace, publishing a form, displaying a screen, or using our tools, you agree to these Terms.

02

The Ecosystem & Links

The Workspace

The central SaaS dashboard for managing your brand, forms, and analytics.

Platform

Forms

Public form-hosting service. You create the forms; your audience fills them out.

Data Processor

Profiles & Short Links

Public digital storefronts (Link in Bio) and dynamic traffic routing services.

Host

Slides (Digital Signage)

Cloud-hosted signage for displaying announcements, prayer times, and content on screens in your premises.

Display Host

Calendar

Plan and publish community events and calendars that can appear across the Halaal apps.

Host

Shop

Online shops run by businesses on Halaal: storefront, checkout and orders. The seller sells; we provide the software.

Platform

Marketplace

A directory and, where available, storefront for browsing halal products and services. User-to-user marketplace transactions are governed by separate marketplace terms.

Marketplace

Third-Party Links Disclaimer

Our Services (particularly Profiles and Short Links) may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, uptime, or content of those external sites. Users are solely responsible for the links they choose to publish.

Marketplace

Any purchase or sale between users through the Marketplace is a contract between those users and is governed by separate marketplace terms; where the Marketplace is not yet generally available in your region, those features may be limited or disabled.

Shops

If you sell through a Halaal shop, our Seller terms also apply and form part of these Terms. Every sale in a shop is a contract between the seller and the buyer: Halaal provides the software, is not a party to the sale, and never receives or holds the buyer's money. If you buy from a shop, see Buying from a shop on Halaal.

03

Accounts & Security

  • Account Security: You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18, you may only use the Services with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian.
  • Handles & Usernames: We reserve the right to remove or reclaim handles if they are offensive, misleading, or infringe on trademarks.
  • Export Compliance: You may not use the Services in violation of applicable UK, EU, or US export controls or sanctions laws.
04

Billing & Refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. They handle all customer service inquiries and returns regarding payments.

  • Subscriptions: Billed in advance. You may cancel at any time, and you will retain access until the end of your billing cycle.
  • Refunds & Disputes: Your statutory rights against us as the supplier — including remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the 14-day cancellation (cooling-off) right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — are unaffected and are honoured by us regardless of Lemon Squeezy's discretionary policies. Additional discretionary refunds, payment disputes, and chargebacks are handled by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their policies.
  • Immediate access: Where a paid digital service begins during the 14-day cancellation period, it does so only with your express consent to immediate performance and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose the 14-day cancellation right once the service has been fully supplied.

Deleting your account

The "cancel any time, keep access until the end of your billing cycle" option above applies to an ordinary cancellation. Deletion is different and immediate: when you delete your account, your data and all resources you own are permanently and irreversibly erased straight away — this is your choice and cannot be undone. Any active subscription is cancelled and the remaining paid period is forfeited; no refund is given for the unused period of a voluntary deletion. This does not affect any statutory cooling-off right. Our Merchant of Record retains invoice and tax records as required by law.

05

In-App Purchases (Halaal Pro)

Halaal Pro is an optional subscription bought inside the Halaal mobile app. It is sold and billed by Apple on iOS and by Google on Android — not by us and not by Lemon Squeezy. Section 04 above does not apply to it.

Halaal Pro does not require a Halaal account. The subscription belongs to your store account.

  • What it is: Halaal Pro, an auto-renewable subscription offered on a monthly or annual basis.
  • Price: the current price of each option, in your local currency, is shown in the app on the subscription screen before you confirm, and on the App Store or Google Play listing. Prices may differ by country and may change; you will always see the price that applies to you before you are charged.
  • Payment: charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Automatic renewal: the subscription renews automatically unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price of the option you selected.
  • Managing and cancelling: you manage the subscription, and turn off automatic renewal, in your store account settings— Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iOS, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We cannot cancel a store subscription on your behalf.
  • Free trials: no free trial is offered at present. If one is ever offered, any unused portion of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription covering the same period.
  • Refunds: handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, because they are the seller. Your statutory rights remain unaffected. We will help you reach the right place, but we cannot issue a refund for a store purchase ourselves.
06

Your Content

You retain ownership of your content, but grant us a license to host it. You are responsible for what you publish, and it must follow these Terms and the law.

How we check content: people, not machines. Every shop is approved by a person before it opens, anyone can report anything published on Halaal, and a person reviews every report and decides what to do (section 10). We do not use automated tools to scan or judge your content, beyond simple checks on what you enter (for example, that a payment link goes to a provider we accept). If that changes, we will say so here first.

Your content & licence to us

You keep ownership of the content you create or upload. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to the extent necessary to operate and provide the Services to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for copies retained in backups for a limited period or where we must keep them to comply with law.

Your warranties

You confirm that you own or have all rights necessary to use and display the content you submit, and that it does not infringe any third party's rights or breach any law or these Terms.

Our intellectual property

The Services — including the software, design, and the "Halaal" name and logos — are owned by Halaal Inc LTD or its licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Services in accordance with these Terms. No rights are granted to our trademarks.

Acceptable use

You must not: (a) reverse engineer, copy, or resell the Services; (b) access the Services by automated means or scrape data except via features we provide; (c) circumvent usage limits, security, or access controls; (d) attempt to disrupt or overload our infrastructure; or (e) use the Services to send unsolicited messages or infringe the rights of others.

Feedback

If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions about the Services, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them for any purpose, without any obligation or compensation to you.

06) Islamic Ethics Policy

We apply content standards informed by Islamic ethical principles (Shariah). Users must ensure their use of the Services is lawful and consistent with these principles. Whether something breaks them is decided by a person, as set out in section 10.

07

Strictly Prohibited

❌

Immodest Content

Nudity, excessive skin, or sexually suggestive media.

🍷

Forbidden Commerce

Promoting alcohol, pork, drugs, or gambling.

💸

Unlawful Finance (Riba)

Usury or interest-based loan schemes.

🚫

Harmful Behavior

Harassment, hate speech, fraud, or phishing.

08

Forms & Data Liability

When using our Form services, you act as the Data Controller for the data you collect through Forms. We act as a Processor for that data, and as a Controller for account, billing, security, and operational data, as set out in our Data Processing Agreement. If you use the Services purely for personal or household purposes, data-protection law generally does not apply to you.

Strictly Prohibited Data Collection:

You are strictly prohibited from using standard form fields to collect sensitive personal information, including but not limited to: Credit Card Numbers, Social Security Numbers, or protected Health/Medical records.

Indemnification (business and organisation users):

If you use the Services as a business or organisation, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Halaal Inc LTD against losses, claims, and damages to the extent they arise from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful collection of data from the public using our platform. This indemnity is limited to losses caused by that breach and does not apply to you where you use the Services as a consumer.

09

Digital Signage (Slides)

The Slides service lets you publish content — such as announcements, prayer times, and reminders — to screens in your premises (for example a foyer, prayer hall, or classroom). When you use it, you act as the Data Controller for the content you choose to display, and we act as a Processor for that content and as a Controller for account, billing, security, and operational data (see our Data Processing Agreement). If you use the Services purely for personal or household purposes, data-protection law generally does not apply to you.

Display links are unlisted, not private

A published display is reachable through a long, unguessable link. It is not password-protected — anyone who has the link can view it. Treat the display link as public, and do not use it to show confidential or sensitive personal information.

Your content, your responsibility

You are solely responsible for everything you publish to a display, including its accuracy, authenticity, lawfulness, and suitability for everyone who may see it — which, in a school or community setting, may include children. This includes any Qur'anic text, hadith, translations, names, dates, imagery, donation appeals, or third-party material. You confirm that you hold all rights necessary to display that content.

🕌 Prayer Times Disclaimer

Prayer times shown through the Services are calculated automatically from the location and calculation method (convention/madhhab) you select. Calculation methods differ, and the resulting times are approximate. They are provided for general convenience only and are not a substitute for an authoritative local timetable or the determination of qualified local religious authorities. You are responsible for choosing the correct location and method and for verifying the displayed times. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for reliance on prayer times or other religious information displayed through the Services.

Hardware, connectivity & availability

You provide, install, and are responsible for the safety of your own display hardware, and for the network connection it relies on. A display needs an active internet connection to receive updates; without one, it continues to show the content it last received. We do not guarantee that displays will update within any particular time, that content will always be available, or that the service will be uninterrupted.

Supported devices and older TVs

Slides is built for current web browsers: recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on computers and on TV sticks and boxes that run them (for example Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV or a Google TV Streamer). These are our supported devices.

Older smart TVs and their built-in browsers (for example older LG webOS and Samsung Tizen models) are supported on a best-effort basis only. On them, a display may be shown in a simpler “lite” mode, some widgets may look different or not appear, and updates may be slower. We do not promise that every widget, layout or feature works on every device, browser or TV, and we may stop supporting a device or browser that its maker no longer updates.

Before you rely on a screen for something important, such as prayer times, check that it shows what you expect. If a TV can't show your display properly, a supported TV stick is the most reliable fix. If you're unsure about a device, ask us at support@halaal.app before you buy.

This does not affect your statutory rights. If you are a consumer and Slides does not work as described on a supported device, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 still apply.

10

Reports, Removals & Appeals

Anyone can tell us about something published on Halaal that they think breaks these Terms or the law, from “this doesn't look halal” to something illegal.

  • How to report: email support@halaal.app with the link to the page or item and what is wrong. You don't need a Halaal account. For a copyright or brand claim, tell us what you own.
  • What happens next:a person looks at every report. We review reports as quickly as we can, and reports about illegal content first. We usually look at a report within a few working days, but we can't promise a fixed response time. If you give us your email, we tell you what we decided.
  • What we may do:leave it as it is, ask the owner to change it, hide an item, pause a page or a shop, or suspend a workspace. Nothing is hidden just because it was reported: a person decides first, and reports about illegal content are looked at first. Hiding or pausing doesn't delete anything, so if we got it wrong, we put it back as it was.
  • We always give our reasons: when we act on your content, we tell you in writing what we did, why, which rule or law it breaks, and how to appeal, unless the law or a police investigation stops us from saying more.
  • Who reported stays private: we never tell the owner who reported them, except for copyright or brand claims, where the owner needs the rights holder's name to respond.
  • Appeals: if we acted on your content and you disagree, reply to our email or write to support@halaal.app within 6 months. A person looks at it again, afresh, on what was published and what you tell us. If we got it wrong, we undo it.
  • Child sexual abuse: we remove child sexual abuse material and report it to the National Crime Agency, as UK law requires. If a child is in danger now, call 999.
  • Complaints about us:if you think we handled a report or an appeal badly, or we aren't doing what this section says, write to us at the same address and a person will answer.

If you sell through a shop, the Seller terms (“Review, pausing and closing”) also apply.
